Small tools, built with care
Lotlsoft builds small full-stack web applications. We work from Fitzroy North, Melbourne.
Two threads run through most of what we ship.
Decision support. Tools that help people make a call by showing them the facts, not rolling them into a score or ranking. Close Enough surfaces publicly available property data: walking distances, flood zones, planning overlays. You decide what matters.
Generative AI with rails. LLMs are useful, but they invent things. So we don't let them. Shopstead helps small businesses run a simple web presence. AI drafts the content, we strip AI slop at publish time, and we refuse to fabricate customer quotes or audit history. If the source material is too thin, we ask the owner rather than fill in.
Where governments and public bodies publish data, we try to make it actually usable. Melbourne Seasons takes 75 years of Bureau of Meteorology records and lets you see where Melbourne's year naturally divides. Close Enough does the same for Victorian planning, transport, and safety data.
We don't set tracking cookies, so there's no cookie banner. No third-party analytics. No selling data. No dark patterns. We try hard on accessibility and fix it when we get it wrong.
Lotlsoft is a sole trader, not a company. Email is the only support channel. Small keeps the work careful.
