Terms of Service

What is Lotlsoft?

Lotlsoft is a collection of small tools, games, and experiments, and they are free to use. The one thing we sell is optional packs in Piksi. We're a sole trader based in Melbourne, not a company, registered for GST in Australia.

Using Our Apps

You're welcome to use our apps for their intended purpose, free of charge. When using any Lotlsoft app, please:

• Be respectful and don't abuse the services
• Don't attempt to hack, overload, or disrupt our systems
• Don't use our apps for anything illegal
• Don't scrape or harvest data from our apps
• Don't create fake accounts or impersonate others

Piksi Packs

Piksi is free to use, and sells optional packs as one-off purchases. Nothing else we make is for sale. The price of a pack, and what it covers, is shown in Piksi before you pay.

• Pack purchases on the web go through our payment provider (Stripe, via Lotl Pay).
• Pack purchases in Piksi's App Store app are billed by Apple, and Apple's terms cover payment and refunds for them.
• Prices charged in Australian dollars include GST. Tax invoices are available on request from billing@lotlsoft.com.
• Billing disputes: email billing@lotlsoft.com within 30 days of the charge before raising a chargeback.

Driving and Navigation

Some apps plan routes and give directions (like Turnbook). When you use them:

• Watch the road, not the screen. Set up a trip before you drive, or have a passenger do it.
• Road rules, signs, signals, police and traffic controllers always come first. A route can be wrong: roads close, rules change, and map data has gaps and errors.
• You decide whether a turn, road or route is safe and legal for you, your vehicle and the conditions.
• Travel times are estimates. Turn counts and labels like "no hard turns" describe the map data, not a promise about the road.

AI Features

Some apps use AI models to write replies or suggestions (like Turnbook's trip planner). When you use them:

• AI output can be wrong, incomplete or made up. Check anything that matters before you rely on it.
• AI output is not professional advice: not legal, medical, financial or safety advice.
• What you type is sent to the model provider that app names, to produce the reply. The app's privacy policy says which provider, where it processes data and what it keeps. Don't type passwords, health details or other people's personal information.
• Don't use AI features to make illegal or harmful content.
• AI features may have usage limits, and we may change or withdraw them.

Your Account

If you create a Lotlsoft account:

• You're responsible for keeping your password secure
• You're responsible for activity on your account
• We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms
• You can delete your account at any time from account settings

Your Content

Some apps let you upload content (like drawings in Leadlight, or PDFs in Vellum). When you upload content:

• You must have the right to share it
• Don't upload illegal, harmful, or offensive content
• We may remove content that violates these terms
• How long uploaded content is kept depends on the app. Some process a file and discard it; others, like Vellum, keep it until you delete it. Each app's own privacy policy says which

No Warranties

Lotlsoft apps are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, except where consumer guarantees under Australian Consumer Law apply and cannot be excluded. We don't guarantee:

• That apps will always be available or work perfectly
• That your data will never be lost
• That features won't change or be removed

We do our best to keep things running smoothly, but Lotlsoft is small and things can break. We do not offer a formal SLA.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lotlsoft is not liable for any damages arising from your use of our apps. This includes:

• Loss of data or progress
• Service interruptions
• Acting on a route, direction or AI suggestion from one of our apps
• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms occasionally. If we make significant changes, we'll try to let you know. Continued use of our apps after changes means you accept the new terms.
